06/04/04 - What's this? No, it couldn't be.. wait, it is! A background! What's with that!? Pretty big image too, aint it?
Anyhoo.. this image was first started when I was in watching a Singer Songwriter competition in The Gaf (youth café in Galway) and was thus in a mood for drawing an image of that theme. When I finished putting down those two imaginary people I decided I'd try and draw the wall behind the actual preformers (It's a big graffitti thing.. I'm too lazy to upload an image.. there's one somewhere on this site: bullet-galway.tripod.com..I'm also too lazy to look for one there) so I did. Damn thing took me a full week to ink.. I really have to get faster at that...
There is a lot wrong with it though.. I started to get lazy with the inking towards the end so it's kinda lumpy in parts.. I still have to get a new set of French Curves, that didn't help either.. and don't get me started on that guitar. Important lesson: do not try and draw something you've never drawn before by heart, then ink it.
I do like the image though.. alas it's also going to be the first decent image I'm giving away.. should be hanging up somewhere in The Gaf. Hurray.
